We have missed out on the recent snow. I'm half way between relieved and disappointed. It did start to flurry on Thursday evening, but came to nothing at all and when we got up on Friday morning, it had all but disappeared.
It has been bloody cold though, and we even had icicles hanging off the front window.
Although we haven't woken to anything resembling deep and crisp and even, we have been graced with a beautiful frost. These pictures are from the attic bedroom.
The frost on the window made it look like etched glass and the sky behind was a bright, cloudless blue.
As soon as the sun came round, little rivers started to run down the window.
and within a few minutes the frost had evaporated.
On reflection, this is probably a better option than snow.
